Hello Maple Avenue Ministries Family,
This past Sunday, Pastor Winfred Burns II delivered a powerful sermon titled "Even in Our Fear, We Are Called Forward." We delved into the story of Mary and the angel Gabriel, exploring the themes of fear and faith, and how they shape our journey with God. Here are some key takeaways from the sermon that we hope will inspire and guide you throughout the week:
Facing Our Fears: Pastor Burns reminded us that like Mary, we often face fear of the unknown and the future. However, it is in these moments of agitation and perplexity that we are called to trust in God's plan and step forward in faith.
Trusting God's Plan: Despite the disruption of her life plans, Mary chose to say, "Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." This teaches us that obedience and faith can lead to unimaginable blessings and fulfillment.
Bringing Our Agitations to God: We learned that our fears and troubles can be brought to God, who acts as the agitator that cleanses and refines us, preparing us for His purpose.
As we reflect on these teachings, let's bring our fears and faith to God, trusting that He will guide us through our uncertainties. May we embrace His plans with open hearts, ready to lay down our own desires for His greater purpose. We're blessed to have you in our community, and we hope to see you at our next gathering.
