MAMily,
Have you heard about the inVocation Fellows and Congregations Program? If not, it is a program for Young Adults (ages 22–29). The Young Adults (Fellows) are gathered into a peer cohort, paired with a mentor from their own church, supported by a team of lay leaders, and invited to contribute their voice and gifts to the congregation they already belong to. For over ten months, (August–May), a cohort of up to 30 Fellows from congregations across West Michigan gathers monthly with nationally recognized Christian thinkers — exploring how faith connects to work, vocation, and life in the local church. Fellows stay rooted in their home congregations throughout, paired with a mentor from within their own community, and supported by a small intergenerational Leadership Acceleration Team (LAT) as they design and implement a ministry project that directly serves their church. The goal is to give these Fellows a glimpse of the real weight—real decisions, real questions, and real uncertainty—about what comes next in ministry.
As some of you know, the inVocation project is near and dear to me. It was one of the programs that funded my project when I served as a Pastoral Resident at Tabernacle Community Church. If anyone in our community is interested please apply through the website below.
The 2026–27 cohort kicks off with a retreat August 21–23. Nominations and applications are open now.
Take a few minutes to explore the new website, specifically the Stories page to hear from past Fellows. Also, an overview PDF is attached.
