Upgrade Your Obedience

Hello Maple Avenue Ministries Family,

This past Sunday, Pastor Winfred Burns II delivered an enlightening sermon titled "Upgrade Your Faith," guiding us through the powerful message found in Matthew 14:22-33. As we embark on this year of upgrades, Pastor Burns encouraged us to deepen our faith and trust in God's promises, even when faced with life's storms. Below are some key takeaways from the sermon:

• Obedience and Sacrifice: Reflecting on Naaman's story from 2 Kings 5, Pastor Burns reminded us that true obedience to God often requires sacrifice. It's in these moments of challenge that our faith is refined and strengthened.

• Defining an Upgrade: An upgrade, as Pastor Burns described, is the purposeful process of polishing our potential and pruning our past so that God can produce something more powerful in us. This transformation involves moving from maintenance to mastery in all areas of life.

• Faith Over Fear: Drawing from Peter's experience of walking on water, we learned that upgrading our faith means shifting our focus from our own limitations to the limitless possibilities through Jesus. When we trust in His command, "Come," we can overcome fears and doubts.
